An update....finally

I realize I haven't posted in a while, but life has been busy since Caleb entered our world. When I do have time to blog, I find myself either doing stuff around the house or relaxing/napping. I don't know how many of you check in here anymore...sorry for the lack of updates on our little family. So, please bear with me as I try to update more often. I've had many ideas for posts floating around in this head of mine, but they never get written. I seem to come up with the best ones while I am trying to fall asleep (I really should keep a notebook beside my bed). Anyway, I can't promise that I will be more diligent at writing on this here blog o'mine.

Caleb is growing like crazy! Hard to believe that just a mere 5 months ago he entered my world and changed it completely. He is such a smiley boy! His smiles make my heart melt. Just recently, he figured out how to roll from his back to tummy. I know that most babies learn how to roll from tummy to back, but I guess my little man decided to do things that aren't the norm. He has discovered a love for the jolly jumper. He will squeal with delight while jumping. It's really cute watching him in it. Who needs TV when you have Caleb? It's very entertaining watching him discover things and how to do things.
We have recently introduced rice cereal to him and he LOVES it! He gobbles it right up. I plan on introducing other foods to him in a couple of weeks. It should be interesting. He will not take a bottle and while that makes it hard for me to enjoy more than 3 hours away from him, I feel very blessed to be able to nurse my little boy. The little moments we have together leave me feeling very enriched. He sure loves his momma! Over the past few weeks, he has discovered that daddy is a pretty cool guy. He smiles for daddy when he arrives home from work and will giggle for him too. I love seeing the bond that is beginning to form between father and son. I look forward to seeing that continue to grow as Caleb gets older.
We have in recent weeks had an issue with Caleb not going down for naps. It was getting to the point where I thought I was going to lose my mind! I am not a huge fan of the "cry-it-out" method, but when desperate times call for desperate measures you gotta do what you can. We have now entered a time where he is recognizing that napping is actually a good thing and is going down much easier.

Mike and I haven't had any time for just the two of us since Caleb was born. A date is long overdue! We hope to remedy that soon since Caleb is now in bed for the night anytime between 8 and 8:30. Two of my girlfriends have offered to come watch Caleb for us so we can enjoy an evening out this Friday. We will most likely take them up on the offer. Our last date was on our anniversary 2 weeks before Caleb and it was just a dinner out since I wasn't feeling the greatest.

That should get you all up to speed with what's been happening around this household.

Yes kids have a way of changing our lives completely, and making our hearts melt with their smile! He looks just like his mom.
